Spelt
Sprinklers was originally formed by a single incident. Founder, Jake Spelt,
returned from vacation to find that all the flowers in his hanging baskets
had died; they had not been watered nearly enough in his absence.
Disappointed, that two weeks of incorrect care had undone months of hard
work, Jake was determined to find a way to make hanging flower baskets
easier to care for.
Jake pursued
his goal for years until he had developed a prototype valve that would
automatically water a basket, using the exact amount of water that flowers
needed to thrive.
Since that
time, innovative new products have been an important part of the growth
history at Spelt Sprinklers. We received our first US patent in 1998; since
then we have been effortlessly watering hanging flower baskets
automatically.
Jake Spelt saw
a need; with skill and determination he met that need. Now is the time to
share the results with the gardening public. The reins are now in the hands
of the next generation. Jake's son, Ron Spelt, is now making it possible for
others to share in the advantages of this remarkable garden accessory. Emphasis on
product quality, product improvement and new product development, continues
to be the hallmark of Spelt Sprinklers.
